Florida Rep. Sirois, County Commission Chair Isnardi push efforts to base Space Command.

Florida Rep. Tyler Sirois is plowing forward with his effort to persuade federal officials to approve creation of the U.S. Space Force, and establishment of the Space Force and U.S. Space Command in Florida.

A memorial resolution that Sirois sponsored, seeking those goals, was unanimous approved by the Florida House on April 17.

Sirois on Friday said Gov. Ron DeSantis has instructed the state agency Space Florida to have a meeting in Orlando on May 9 to strategize how to bring Space Command to Florida.

Meanwhile, Brevard County Commission Chair Kristine Isnardi will be going to Washington next month to meet with Air Force officials and members of Congress to push for location of Space Command in Brevard County.
